Quality Choices Workshops

Quality Choices provides practical workshops and theory training based on Dr. William Glasser’s Choice Theory. All our workshops and training are presented by experienced facilitators and certified trainers.

Our two day workshop has been designed as a basic introduction to the idea that human behaviour is a process where – our beliefs influence our perceptions – our perceptions influence our feelings – our feelings influence our behaviours. If you can recall a time when your own emotions were running high then you’ll likely remember how hard it was to change your feelings and/or behaviour. This is because our beliefs are at the forefront of the process of human behaviour.

Our workshop explains why it is necessary to work at the level of changing beliefs if we want to change feelings and behaviours. We show you the parts of the process to target for change and provide opportunities for you to put this into practice during the workshop.

Choice Theory Basic Intensive Training

This four day workshop is registered with the William Glasser Institute of Australia (WGIA), is facilitated by a WGIA Certified Trainer and is the first of five stages in the WGIA’s certification process.

While the certification process is designed for those who work with people professionally there are no qualification prerequisites for the Basic Intensive Training (BIT).

If you are a someone who interacts with others on a daily basis then the BIT workshop might be for you.

Our participants come from all walks of life including business people, teachers and parents. In this workshop you will learn how to:

  • maintain healthy relationships by practicing the seven connecting habits that bring people closer together.
  • apply choice theory and reality therapy to a variety of life situations
  • develop a more thorough understanding of mental health as it applies to education, management and marriage

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) Foundation Training

This two day workshop teaches a simple process for communicating with empathy, honesty and compassion and is facilitated by a certified trainer with the Centre for Nonviolent Communication.

NVC’s purpose is to create human connections that empower compassionate giving and receiving.

In this workshop you will learn how to:

  • focus on the feelings and needs that lie beneath the surface of most human interaction
  • resolve conflict in a way that ensures everyone’s needs are met peacefully
  • make requests that allow for freedom of choice – not coercive demands

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) Practice Group

This is a fortnightly group that meets to put into practice the teachings from Dr Marshall Rosenberg’s book Nonviolent Communication – A Language of Life. Each fortnight the group discusses a chapter from the book which then forms the basis for the practice. There is no prerequisite for this group other than reading sequentially through the book.

The NVC book teaches far more than a communication technique. It will help you start to resolve conflicts; to more easily get what you want without using demands; to begin to hear the needs of others with less struggle; to strengthen your personal and professional relationships; and to start living to your fullest potential.
